Wow!
A really beautiful brand new mural now graces the walls of 2DIVE4.
My friends, Chris,
Dora and Reese visited with me in St. Croix recently. In between
dives Chris spent some time painting. As in the past the results are
spectacular. Chris also did some more work on our ever expanding
"North
shore dives" mural in the games room. This graphic is a
representation of some significant local underwater features. When
he wasn't helping his dad paint, Reese
was busy practicing to be a rescue diver in the pool. Be our guest
at 2DIVE4 and see all the beautiful murals first hand. You may even
be lucky enough to spend some quality time in the sea with real
dolphins. Email me with your
ideas for future murals or to make a reservation.

During
my recent visit to St. Croix, I decided to spend some time
furthering my diving education. I enrolled in a Rescue diver class
with Cane Bay Dive Shop.
They are conveniently located just 1/2 mile from 2DIVE4. The class
was small and informal. What a great learning environment! College
should have been this much fun. There was of course the class
room work, with videos, books, demonstrations and I am happy to
say no dive tables. Then we practiced rescue
from the shore. If you can save someone without subjecting
yourself to risk that is always preferable. Then we worked on
various scenarios. Everything from panicked diver on the surface to
unconscious diver on the bottom. Then we practiced
and practiced and
practiced some
more until we felt confident.
I highly recommend the rescue diver class. It was
a lot of fun. You learn how to save yourself as well as others when
emergencies arise. When you are a guest of 2DIVE4, you will receive
special treatment and discounts at Cane
Bay Dive Shop. If all this talk about diving makes you want to
get wet, then email me now and
let's get you to St. Croix.
Just a side light. While I was getting my
training, there was a very big yacht called Pangea,
that anchored in Cane Bay. It was huge. It had 2 boats on its
foredeck that would have made most boaters proud. I understand it
carried enough fuel to allow it to cross the Atlantic 4 times
without stopping. Anyway, a billionaire from Idaho who sold a
telephone co. owns it and stopped in our neck of the woods to
reprovision and have some fun. It was pretty cool to dive underneath
it and check out the huge prop and anchor.

"Thank
you so much for providing us with such a perfect location for our
family vacation. We had an absolutely wonderful vacation! The SCUBA
divers among us got to dive four days. It was great!!! The villa was
perfect for our needs. We had a variety of daughters, parents,
husbands, and even a boyfriend to accommodate at various times
during the week. The set up at 2DIVE4 was perfect for that. After
spending our days in the sun and sea, we played PIT and UNO at the
kitchen table."
"It was
really a dream for vacation for all of us."
"Phillip was a godsend.!
He anticipated our needs and was available at a moment's notice when
necessary. Thank you again for sharing your home with us."

I
suggest you add Protestant Cay to your list of places to visit while
you are on St. Croix. You take a short ferry
ride over from downtown Christiansted to get to the little
island. The snorkeling
there is great. There are jet
skis to rent with plenty of room to ride them as fast as you
want. Before lunch I suggest checking out the sand volleyball court.
Once you have worked up an appetite, their nice outdoor restaurant
is great for a casual lunch. After your stomach is full, take a nap
on the beach until
the next sea plane
comes or goes and causes you to stir a bit. Ahhhh life really can be
a beach!

As
can be easily seen on the Top Side
Activities page their are a lot of activities that one staying
at 2DIVE4 can partake in. Each time I visit St. Croix I try to have
a new experience so I am familiar enough to be able to brief
interested guests. Or in this case my kids try it so I don't have
to.
Steve, the horse guy (as I know him), operates a riding stable in
the Cane Bay area. Some of our children and their friends wanted to
experience Cruzan horseback riding so we met him at Off The Wall for
a morning of fun.
First, you choose a
horse appropriate to our skill level. After putting all the
riding gear on the horse you get a brief
lesson on how to ride. You then take a ride
on the beach to get used to your horse. After a trail ride it is
time to remove
the saddle, go bare back and take
to the sea. Don't worry, be
happy, they all know how to swim!

Hello!
My name is Ryan Voloch and
I am the webmaster for 2Dive4's website! I am from Pittsburgh,
PA and I am currently a senior college student at Rochester
Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. I just got back from a
relaxing visit to 2Dive4 this past week. My job was to take
digital photos of the villa for the website (and to go on a relaxing
vacation, of course). After staying a week in the villa with Dave, I
must say that every good comment you read on this website is
entirely true. St. Croix and the 2Dive4 villa is simply
amazing! Here is a special Webmaster's
Visit page with some stories and digital photos of my journey.
Enjoy!

"Dear
Dave, Just wanted to let you know how much Tracy and Greg Dunkle and
I enjoyed our stay at your wonderful villa from 5/7 to 5/15. It is
even better than we anticipated! We were so pleased to find top of
the line appliances and furnishings. Philip was wonderfully
accommodating and the cleaning lady did a very nice job. We decided
the shore entry for diving was a bit tricky for us and used it only
once but Cane Bay is so close, it made no difference. We did a lot
of boat diving, too.
If you need a reference from a
recent guest, do not hesitate to give a potential tenant my e-mail
address jeanettemeyers@hotmail.com.
Thank you for such a pleasant
experience."

"Dear
Dave, The villa was beautiful. It is the first time we have gone
someplace and said "Wow! This is better than the
pictures!" We loved it. I miss hearing the sound of the waves
from the great room. Having the Jacuzzi after a day of diving was
the best! Phillip was, of course, great. We were thrilled with how
complete the villa was stocked. You even had the tool kit which we
needed to change a tire on our rental truck.
I loved the paintings on the
wall. They go so perfectly with the villa!
We loved Cane Bay diving. We
did some boat dives off their inflatable to avoid my 65-year old
mother having to do the surface swim and it was beautiful. We saw
tons of turtles there. We thought the diving in Salt River was okay.
Day diving the Fredericksted pier was fabulous! We went back that
same day and did it at night but it was better during the day. If
you haven't done that dive, you should put that on your list. We had
Scuba West take us out to the end on their boat and we swam back in.
There was so much to see that we didn't even get the whole pier done
in an hour. Thank you again for sharing your spot of paradise. We
wouldn't think of staying at any other place on St. Croix. We will
highly recommend it. Please build a series of 2dive4s on some other
islands in the Caribbean!"
